Terms of service
Last updated 3 August 2026
These terms govern access to Assay. Where your organisation has signed a separate written agreement, that agreement takes precedence over anything below that conflicts with it.
1. The service
Assay joins process, laboratory and batch records, learns from a site's own history, and presents predicted outcomes with an uncertainty band, plain-language reasons and suggested actions.
2. Advisory only — the critical limit
Assay is decision support. It does not test product, it does not certify conformance and it never writes back to a control system. Every prediction is an estimate with stated uncertainty. The laboratory result is the measured truth, and release decisions, safety decisions and regulatory decisions remain entirely with you and your qualified personnel.
You agree not to use Assay as the sole basis for releasing, rejecting or certifying product, or in place of any testing, monitoring or control required by law, regulation or your own quality system.
3. Accounts
Accounts are for named individuals and must not be shared. You are responsible for the actions of accounts in your organisation and for removing access promptly when someone leaves.
4. Your data
You own everything you upload. We process it only to run the service for you, and to train models scoped to your organisation. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display it back to your users. We claim no other rights.
5. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another organisation's data, probe or interfere with the service's security, reverse engineer the models, resell access, or upload unlawful content or personal data you have no basis to share.
6. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee unless your agreement states one. Planned maintenance is notified in advance where practical.
7. Fees
Subscription fees, term and renewal are set out in your order. Recovered-value figures shown in the product are estimates produced from your own data and stated assumptions; they are not a warranty of financial outcome.
8. Warranties and liability
Except as expressly stated, the service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost production, spoiled or rejected product, or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Termination and exit
Either party may terminate in line with the order. On termination you may request an export of your data for thirty days, after which it is deleted from active systems and, in due course, from backups.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are notified to account administrators before they take effect.
